Annamária Rita Tóth
BIO
I graduated at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts as a Painter in 2018, and then I recieved my Artist teacher degree in 2020. My professors were Zsigmond Károlyi, Csaba Filp, János Kósa and Réka Nemere. In 2017, I have been awarded the National Higher Education Scholarship, and the Barcsay Award in 2018. I completed the Budapest Art Mentor program in 2021. I am a member of the Society of Hungarian Painters, the National Association of Hungarian Artists (MAOE), and the FŰZ art group, founded in 2021.
STATEMENT
In my work I examine timelessness and constant change, I search for connections with time, space, nature, people. Space plays an importantrole, connectingpast and present, memory and tangiblereality. We can see intertwined gestures, alternation of light and shadow, creating a particular atmosphere. My paintings balance on the border of abstraction and figurality. The work with the material, the expressiveness and the floating elements are equally important. I am interested in the duality of presence and intangible feelings and attachments.
Technically, in most cases I work with oil on canvas, but I also create drawings and use other materials. My latest works are painted on a woven fabric of thin fibers of glass, in several layers behind each other. This material with its purity and floating airiness is more able to emphasize timelessness, elusive,constantly moving flow and connection.
